08/02/09 - The French Aircraft Carrier, 'Clemenceau (Q-790)' arrived from Brest. The vessel was bound for ABLE UK's Teesside Environmental Reclaimation Recycling Plant, (TERRC) where she is to be scrapped.
The Clemenceau was towed on her last voyage by the 'Anglain Earl'. The Tees Tugs: Svitzer Bootle, Svitzer Sun, Ormesby Cross, Fiery Cross & Coatham Cross assisted with the towage and berthing once on the Tees.
The Tees Harbour Launch, Coatham, Greatham, Tees Sentinel and two police vessels escorted her into the channel.
I dedicate the following images to Peter Ainsworth & John Dunn who are sadly no longer with us.
