Hi Nathan
You standard of photography is coming on in leaps and bounds - far superior photographs than were on your 'old site'. Its always good to hear that someone is attemtpting to record the history of shipping and that is what you are doing with your site.
Look forward to seeing more and more shots.

A very informative website and one that can evolve. My only drawback is the colour of the text and background as the text merges too well into the background. I would suggest you change either.

To John from Seaham, Nathan got in touch with me about your request.
There is a bridge across the railway line at Graythorpe, from which you can see Able UK's TERRC Yard.
Here is a link to mulitmap, if the link doesn't work type "Graythorpe" into the search area.
http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=Graythorpe&countryCode=GB#map=54.64022,-1.19779|14|4&loc=GB:54.63913:-1.20036:14|Graythorpe|Graythorp,%20Hartlepool,%20Cleveland,%20England,%20TS25%202
It is on the A178 from Seaton Carew to Middlesbrough road. There is an idustrial estate opposite the yard, where you can park and walk up onto the bridge.
Some pics can be seen on my site from what the view is like. But beware that the ships don't have a clear view, with the arrival of the Oil Rig sections being placed in the yard in front of the ships.

Spoke to you yesterday afternoon (7.8.08) at South Gare. Your explanations were helpful, well-informed and interesting, and you left me with an impression of your passion for shipping. Fascinating site! Never been to sea myself, but my grandfather began his seafaring life aged 12 sailing on fishing boats out of Banff and Buckie, and ended it as a shipwright at the Haverton Hill yard in the 1920's and 30's. It's in the blood somewhere!

Hi up North
Enjoyed your site. I am looking for photos of the arrival of the Ice Maiden. I was the captain of the vessel in her previous state. She was once known as SAS Outeniqua and was run by the South African Navy as a support ship and Ice breaker. Have fond memories of her. I will continue watching for her arrival.
